Oghma is the first deity I connected with in 2020 while exploring my Celtic roots. I yearned for the type of relational bond with the land and community that the nēhiyaw (ᓀᐦᐃᔭ, Cree) people have nourished for thousands of years and continue to nourish, even in the midst of ongoing genocide.
I am incredibly grateful to those who have contributed to my perspective on what it means to be truly loved by Creator and to strive to live in right relation (Wâhkôhtowin, ᐋᐧᐦᑰᐦᑐᐃᐧᐣ).
Language is integral in shaping our worldview - this is why acts of genocide (such as Residential Schools) target Indigenous languages that are based on interconnetedness.
When I connected with Oghma, I immediately felt seen. As a deity of writing, poetry, and music and how nature speaks to us through symbolism and energy, I knew we chose to work together in this lifetime (and likely many others).
I answered Oghma's call and found myself, not lightly but also not fully aware, agreeing to dedicate my life to spiritual pursuit.
"Some people find themselves called [...] They are brought to service by something Otherworldly that compels them to a spiritual life. This call transcends categories of place and time and genetics, speaking directly to the heart. [...] In modern western society such calls to service are often misunderstood or misinterpreted by those not called. [...] People who receive such a call and who view deity and spirit as real and manifest are often considered eccentric, or even insane[; however,] [...] just because it isn't generally accepted in society doesn't mean our response to spirit is wrong or should be medicated into submission."
For these six years, I have been trained and tested - I have begged for the clarity I knew I was hiding from myself - I have had to let go of relationships, paradigms, and ways of being that simply do not align with what my Mission is in this lifetime. "Sometimes that call urges us to separate ourselves from society." I have felt incredible loneliness on this path.

This next phase of The Calling is asking me to trust in the knowledge I have gained and to birth what I am here to create.
